How It Works...
We provide the doctor, free of charge, an Olympus Digital Voice Recorder, the DS-150. This recorder has built-in memory, requiring no media, which has a direct connection to your PC with either a serial cable or USB port.
Here are only some of the features of this digital voice recorder:
DS-150
Industry-leading 160 minutes recording time
Powerful digital editing capabilities including overwriting, insertion and deletion
LCD display shows message number, real-time counter, time remaining, current time and date, and operating modes
Voice activation – will only record when the microphone senses sound
Fast playback: 30% faster than real time
Partial erase function erases one message at a time or an entire folder at once
If a physician prefers, for a nominal fee, we can upgrade the Olympus Digital Recorder to the DS-2000, which is also Mac compatible. Some added features of this digital recorder are as follows:
DS-2000
Supports removable SmartMedia cards for up to 22 hours of recording time and makes downloading quicker.
The SmartMedia card can be removed and its contents downloaded to a PC rather than directly through the recorder.
With either of the above options, the physician simply dictates into the recorder, downloads the files into the computer and E-mails them to Cyberscript, we take it from there. The files are sent via the Internet in DSS form, so they are not interpretable without the proper DSS software to read them. The completed files are encrypted, digitally signed and E-mailed directly to the physician’s office within one business day. It is that simple!
One of our goals is to make the transition to our services as smooth and as simple as possible, so a technician will come to your office, free of charge, install the equipment/software and demonstrate how to use the Olympus Digital Recorder of your choice.
